Vexica Technology signs remote phosphor patent license agreement with Cree.

Vexica Tecnology Ltd, a pioneering and forward thinking OEM LED solutions provider, has signed a patent license agreement with Cree, Inc.

Cree, Inc. announced on Monday 19^th December that it has granted five LED lighting manufacturers licenses to select Cree patents through its recently launched remote phosphor licensing program. By making fundamental remote phosphor patents available through license, Cree is further enabling LED lighting adoption, as Cree innovations facilitate the development of LED lights combining remote phosphor optical elements with blue LEDs.

“Cree is committed to protecting its valuable innovations and is pleased to extend licenses to companies such as Vexica Technology Ltd. that recognize the importance and value of intellectual property rights,” said George Brandes, Cree director of intellectual property licensing.

Vexica Technology Ltd are proud to be amongst the first 5 companies worldwide to be selected and granted licences to Cree’s remote phosphor patents. Details of the royalty-bearing licenses were not disclosed.

We are introducing and announcing the launch of our first OEM LED module called LUMAERA. The LUMAERA module has the following key features:

On-board TRIAC mains dimming driver
95 mm diameter OEM heat sink

Remote Phosphor colour conversion for high CRI options 1200 and 2000 Lumen options (high versions due Q2 2012)

The new LUMAERA OEM LED module offers manufacturers unparalleled ease of integration of LED technology. Offered in 1200 and 2000 lumen packages, this new LED module has an interface for a twist and clip AR111 form factor reflector allowing easy selection and changes of optical distribution patterns without the need for specialist tools. The Vexica LUMAERA LED module product gives luminaire manufacturers versatile LED solutions without the associated research and development costs. This allows them to offer clients considerable savings on both energy and maintenance with a cost effective luminaire solution. Unrivalled light output is achieved using the latest LED technology and Vexica’s highly efficient TRIAC dimming integrated driver. High CRI options are available providing rendering indexes over 90 achieved via Vexica’s proprietary mixing chamber and Intematix remote phosphor technologies. Vexica have integrated the very latest CREE XT-E LEDs specifically tuned for use with remote phosphor systems. White diffuser LED versions are also available using a range of high power LEDs where customers demand a more cost sensitive version but still want high levels of efficiency. We are able to incorporate your LED of choice if you have an affinity or preference for a certain brand. Our LED driver design delivers smooth mains dimming via TRIAC control systems with high efficiency. For ease of installation and wiring, a push fit mains connector is integrated as part of the module with cable clamping. Vexica also offer a die cast aluminium heat-sink with optional silent active cooling designed specifically for the LUMAERA to allow OEMs complete peace of mind when it comes to the all-important issue of thermal management. Vexica to start LUMAERA demonstrations

Vexica enjoyed vast interest at the LUX Live show last week at Earls Court, London. We will start our product demonstrations in the coming weeks. This will allow OEM’s to get a close up of the new LUMAERA module. VEXICA will be updating the website in the coming weeks with dimensional DXF drawings allowing OEM’s to start the Luminaire design in process. Further technical data will be added to the site shortly. Vexica Technology will introduce a focused OEM sample and test programme with full technical support and expert LED advice on how to incorporate the LED LUMAERA module into existing and new luminaire designs. One of the instant advantages to using the LUMAERA module is the 111mm diameter reflector form factor. This provides OEM’s a fast track solid state solution to integrating LED technology into a down light design. A key advantage of the LUMAERA design is the containment of the integrated TRIAC mains dimming LED driver. Vexica aim to start volume production in Q1, 2012 of our initial module.
